Morocco adventure tours focus on the High Atlas Mountains (Mount Toubkal — 4,167m, the tallest peak in North Africa) and the Sahara Desert. Standard programs combine 2–6 days of trekking from Imlil with overnight Berber village stays, plus optional desert extensions. Best trekking seasons are April–June and September–October. All multi-day treks include a licensed mountain guide.

About Our Morocco Adventure Tours

Morocco is one of the world's most underrated adventure destinations — the High Atlas hosts Mount Toubkal (the tallest peak in North Africa at 4,167m), Berber villages that have welcomed trekkers for over a century, and a desert sand-board scene that rivals anywhere on Earth. Our adventure tours pair certified mountain guides with comfortable Berber eco-lodges, so you get the trek and the cultural exchange in the same trip.

Frequently Asked Questions

How hard is climbing Mount Toubkal?+

Toubkal (4,167m) is a non-technical summit but it is long and high. The standard 2-day route covers 22 km with 2,400m of elevation gain. Most travelers with regular hiking fitness can complete it. The main challenges are altitude (the summit is just over 13,000 ft) and the pre-dawn summit push in cold conditions.

What is the best time for Morocco trekking?+

April through June and September through October are the best months for High Atlas trekking — clear weather, no snow, comfortable daytime temperatures (60–75°F). Winter (December–February) brings snow above 2,500m and requires crampons. Summer (July–August) is too hot in the lower valleys but excellent at altitude.

Do I need a guide for Atlas Mountain treks?+

For day hikes around Imlil and the Ourika Valley, a guide is helpful but not strictly required. For any multi-day trek (including Mount Toubkal), a licensed mountain guide is mandatory and enforced by local authorities at the trailhead. All our adventure tours include a licensed certified guide.

Can I combine Atlas trekking with the Sahara Desert?+

Yes — this is one of our most-booked combinations. A 10-day program covers 2–3 days trekking in the Atlas from Imlil, then continues by 4x4 over the Tizi n'Tichka pass to Aït Benhaddou, Ouarzazate, and the Sahara at Merzouga for an overnight desert camp.
